Cyndi Fischer is an Executive Vice President for VetFed Resources, Inc., a Veteran-Owned Small Business (VOSB). Ms. Fischer leads company operations in the area of healthcare and healthcare support. She brings to VetFed 25 years of leadership experience in project management, training, service delivery, and quality assurance.
In 2005 Ms. Fischer retired from a very successful twenty-one year Army career and transitioned into the government-contracting sector supporting healthcare contracts worldwide. For the last 7 years Ms. Fischer has been an essential part of key management teams leading contracts within the Veteran’s Administration, Department of Defense, Health and Human Services and Center for Medicaid and Medicare Services to name a few.
Ms. Fischer has been involved in every aspect of contract management from scope design to contract closeout. Ms. Fischer has managed large budgets, direct staff exceeding two dozen members at multiple locations, been held responsible for contract profitability as well as provided oversight for contract staff of over 1,000. Ms. Fischer has provided direct management for personnel in both clinical and non-clinical settings, designed and leads a Program Management Office (PMO) to systematically handle task orders, resources and quality assurance measures and is a tireless advocate of continuous improvement.
While in the Army Ms. Fischer served both CONUS and OCONUS and was assigned to five different Infantry Divisions throughout her career. Ms. Fischer served as a member of a General Officer’s staff for over seven years and frequently supported both the Department of the Army and Department of Defense staff. During her time in the Army Ms. Fischer was a sought after guest speaker and trainer in the area of Personnel Management. She was selected to support the Department of Army Inspector General’s Office in an extremely delicate investigation that resulted in policy level changes being made in how soldiers are supported during time of crisis.
Ms. Fischer holds an MSA in Administration and is a certified Project Management Professional (PMP) and Personnel Consultant (CPC). She is a published author in the field of healthcare recruitment and a Management Professor for a local University in the Metro DC area.
